SEOUL — Lotte Giants outfielder Victor Reyes established a new Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) single-season hit record on October 12, 2026, collecting four hits in a 7–4 victory over the Doosan Bears at Jamsil Baseball Stadium.

Reyes finished the regular-season finale with 211 hits, surpassing the previous single-season benchmark and capturing the league hits title for the third consecutive year. According to reports from Yonhap News Agency and The Chosun Ilbo, the Venezuelan switch-hitter secured the milestone during a high-stakes closing day that featured a tight race at the top of the league's individual batting statistics.

Entering the final game of the regular season, Reyes was locked in a close competition with KT Wiz infielder Choi Won-jun. Choi had temporarily claimed the top spot with 203 hits earlier in the week before closing his schedule with 208 hits. Reyes answered by delivering a multi-hit performance, punctuated by a solo home run in the sixth inning off Doosan left-hander Choi Seung-yong and a record-breaking single in the eighth inning.

Following his 211th hit, the Lotte Giants substituted Reyes with a pinch-runner, prompting an extended ovation from both teams' supporters at the stadium. The victory also secured seventh place in the final regular-season standings for the Giants.

The record-breaking performance adds another milestone to Reyes' career in the KBO. He previously set the league's single-season hit record with 202 hits during the 2024 season, followed by 187 hits in 2025. With his latest achievement, Reyes becomes the first foreign player in KBO history to lead the league in hits for three consecutive years.

In addition to its historic place in league statistics, the game carried ceremonial significance for Jamsil Baseball Stadium. The fixture marked the final regular-season contest scheduled at the iconic Seoul venue before its planned demolition at the end of 2026.
