CBS Action-Drama Tracker Returns for Fourth Season With Premiere Episode Safe Harbor

The CBS survivalist drama Tracker returns for its fourth season tonight, Sunday, October 4, 2026, airing a special time slot premiere. The opening episode, titled "Safe Harbor," is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET/9:00 p.m. PT on CBS before the series shifts to its regular 9:00 p.m. ET/PT slot beginning October 11.

Starring Justin Hartley as lone-wolf reward seeker Colter Shaw, the season premiere follows the protagonist as he investigates the disappearance of a teenage boy's father. According to network descriptions, the search pulls Shaw into a dangerous criminal operation centered at the Port of Los Angeles. The episode was written by Alex Katsnelson and Annakate Chappell, and directed by Joel Novoa.

For viewers watching outside of traditional broadcast television, distribution options depend on platform subscriptions. The premiere will be available for next-day on-demand streaming on Paramount+ starting October 5, while subscribers to the Paramount+ Premium tier can stream the episode live as it airs on CBS. Live viewing is also accessible through live TV streaming services carrying local CBS affiliates.

Season 4 introduces notable logistical and narrative shifts for the production. The series relocated its primary filming base from Vancouver, Canada, to Los Angeles, California, following state tax credit allocations. Showrunner and executive producer Elwood Reid noted that the transition focused on maintaining visual and narrative continuity for the drama.

The narrative framework continues to balance self-contained missing-person cases with serialized character dynamics. Hartley is joined by returning cast members including Fiona Rene, Chris Lee as Randy, and Cassady McClincy Zhang as Mel Day. Additionally, Jensen Ackles is slated to reprise his role as Colter's estranged brother, Russell Shaw, later in the season cycle.

Following tonight's premiere, Tracker will broadcast its second episode, "Switchback," on October 11.
