Los Angeles Advances to Third Straight NLCS

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Atlanta Braves 4–1 at Truist Park on October 7, 2026, securing a 3–1 victory in the best-of-five National League Division Series and advancing to the National League Championship Series for the third consecutive year.

Center fielder Andy Pages delivered the decisive blow in the seventh inning, hitting a bases-loaded, two-run single off relief pitching to break a 1–1 tie. Max Muncy added a solo home run later in the contest to provide insurance as the Los Angeles bullpen locked down the final frames to eliminate Atlanta.

Pitching Duel Gives Way to Late-Inning Offense

Game 4 featured a tight pitching matchup between Dodgers starter Tyler Glasnow and Braves starter Tyler Mahle. Atlanta opened the scoring in the first inning when Michael Harris II singled, stole second base, and advanced home on a wild pitch.

The Dodgers answered in the top of the second. Shohei Ohtani walked, stole second, and advanced to third on a fielding error before scoring when Max Muncy reached base on a misplay, tying the game 1–1.

Both pitching staffs maintained the stalemate through the middle innings. In the bottom of the sixth, Atlanta threatened when Ozzie Albies hit a leadoff double off the left-field wall. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts summoned relief pitcher Edgardo Henriquez, who escaped the jam by retiring the next two batters and stranding Albies at second base.

In the top of the seventh, the Dodgers loaded the bases against the Atlanta bullpen. Facing reliever Robert Suarez, Pages worked a full count before driving a single through the middle of the infield, plating two runners to put Los Angeles ahead 3–1. Muncy followed with his postseason home run to extend the lead. Four Los Angeles relievers combined to limit the Braves to four hits and no runs over the final 4.1 innings.

Series Context and Next Steps

The victory marks the ninth time in 14 seasons that the Dodgers have reached the NLCS. Los Angeles advanced through the series following a 3–1 victory in Game 3 on October 6, during which Enrique Hernández hit a two-run home run off Atlanta ace Chris Sale.

The Braves concluded their season after capturing their seventh National League East title since 2018 with a 94-win regular season. Despite strong performances from their rotation, Atlanta struggled offensively throughout the division series, finishing 1-for-23 with runners in scoring position.

The Dodgers will travel to face the Milwaukee Brewers in the opening game of the NLCS. The Brewers advanced by defeating the San Diego Padres 3–1 in their respective division series.
